On the occasion of our 10th anniversary in 2015, we interviewed some of the best kitesurfers in the world and asked them about their personal Kitesurf World Cup St. Peter-Ording stories.
Our first interview partner was the current world champion Christophe Tack, who spoke with us about his first World Cup experience and his plans for 2015.
Hey Christophe, how are you?
Hi, I am fine. Thanks.
When was the first time you joined the Kitesurf World Cup in St. Peter-Ording?
My first time was back in 2007. It was my first world cup event ever!
On which position do you ended up?
I made it through the trails and ended up on 17th position in the main event. If I remember correct
What was your first impression of the event and what do you think about it now?
It is the biggest kiteboarding event in the world, and till today it still is. I’m always stoked when I see a crowd of people watching freestyle kiteboarding!
Is it the best stop of the tour?
It is one of the better tour stops, especially when there are waves!
What were your best/funniest moments in St. Peter-Ording?
I always have a great time with the Liquid Force team from Germany and I shared plenty of fun moments with them. Also in the riders tent there are plenty of funny moments. I couldn’t pick out just one.
Do you have a wish for the World Cup 2015?
I hope to win the World Championship again, that would be great! I also never won in Germany, so that is a goal!
